The aim of the PIMALI project is to assist underprivileged youth and orphans aged minimum 17 and older, who have finished their compulsory schooling in Thailand. The aid will involve providing them with a basic practical hotel training of one year, in order to secure a professional future for them in the hospitality industry as well as financial independence. The program also includes placement in a suitable hotel for practical experience as part of their training with a view to them being employed there at the end of the placement.
The Phuket International Women’s Club provides funding for under privileged children in the Phuket / Phang Nga area from Kindergarten to University, Currently there are over 200 children receiving scholarships with 700+ scholarships granted since its inception in 1990
In addition to the above we also provide support to local charities through our general Charity Fund. This support is normally granted for exceptional need in emergencies as well as donations to local NGO’s that meet the aims of Skal International.
In memory of our late Skaleague Pascal Frei, we support the Baan Tha Kaow School on Koh Yao Noi, this state school based on Ko Yao Noi, an island near Phuket where we have our annual weekend away. Our help here is practical and aimed at improving the atmosphere that the children can learn in. Previous help has been in funding the rebuilding of the dining area and this year we will be building new toilets for both boys and girls.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals of supporting our charities. Your generous donation will fund our mission to improve the lives of children across Thailand.
